The Golden Pass rail route operates from Lucerne to Montruex, linking lake Lucerne with lake Geneva and the German speaking part of Switzerland with the French speaking part of the country. On this train journey you will travel along six lakes and over three mountain-passes. There are three different trains because of the varying gauges of the track. From the historic sights of Lucerne, your journey takes you to Interlaken, capital of the beautiful Bernese Oberland. On your journey you will pass the fashionable Alpine resort of Gstaad with its chic chalets, before descending to Montreux alongside Lake Geneva.
